We are Mike and Nancy Carnahan, owners of the Riverside Inn, Downieville, California. We invite you to come spend some time in the Gold Country and get to know Downieville and beautiful Sierra County. Downieville, the county seat, retains the charm and atmosphere of the gold rush days as a major gold mining center. We're located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains on Highway 49, north of Reno, Truckee and Lake Tahoe.

The Riverside Inn has 11 units and is located on the Downie River where it intersects the Yuba River. All rooms have balconies overlooking the river. We have a two-room suite that can sleep eight people. Several of our rooms, including the suite, have kitchen facilities. Some rooms also include a fireplace.

Downieville has become a major center for mountain biking. Other recreational opportunities include fishing, snow mobiling, cross-country skiing, hiking, rafting, kayaking, and gold panning.  It's also a great place to just get away from the pressures of the city and enjoy fresh mountain air and meet some friendly people.
